How to Use “Explore The Secrets of Mental Math”
The series “Explore the Secrets of Mental Math” includes six levels. Each level is contained in a separate book. Each book includes complete instructions, helpful illustrations and photos, and exercises.

Level 1 teaches addition and subtraction of three-digit numbers from 0 to 444. Most children can learn from one to three lessons per day in this Level.

Level 2 teaches addition and subtraction of three-digit numbers from 555 to 999. Children will typically learn just one lesson per day in this Level.

Level 3 teaches addition of three-digit from 111 to 444 with carrying over. Children will typically learn one lesson every two days at this Level.

Level 4 teaches subtraction of three-digit numbers from 111 to 444. Children will typically learn one lesson every two days at this Level.

Level 5 teaches addition and subtraction of three-digit numbers from 555 to 777 with carrying over and borrowing. Children will typically learn one lesson every 3-5 days at this Level.

Level 6 teaches addition and subtraction of three-digit numbers from 888 to 999 with carrying over and borrowing. Children will typically learn one lesson every 3-5 days at this Level.

At the pace shown above, most children will complete the entire series (all six books) within 6-12 months. When learning at each Level, repetition and review are important. Some times, a child may think that a lesson is too easy, and be tempted to skip a lesson. However, children must learn the process page-by-page, in order to master the Mental Math process
