Teaching Mental Math
Teachers often wonder how long it would take for them to learn how to teach Mental Math? And they often ask if they must themselves master Mental Math in order to teach it. The answer to the second question is no; in order to teach Mental Math, teachers (and parents) must only learn how to teach the children to use the abacus, and how to follow the lessons in the book series. Typically, after about three hours of instruction, teachers are equipped to teach Mental Math to their students. Parents can also learn these same skills and teach their children.
